Embedded Processor Module

The EPM is the heart of the LDK5910/5912, it handles processing and power supply functions. This module includes the TI’s OMAP5910 and OMPA5912 CPU, Flash memory, SDRAM memory, power supply circuitry, JTAG connector and SD card expansion slot.

The modular approach taken in development of the LDK5910/5912 is very beneficial as any module may be upgraded without changing other modules. If, for example, support for a larger screen is required, the IDM module can be altered without changing the EPM or LEM. Alternatively, the EPM module may be upgraded to support more memory without any need to change the IDM or LEM.

LAN and Expansion Module

The LEM provides the LDK5910/5912 with a 10Mb Ethernet connection through a standard RJ-45 connector. Using the Ethernet connection, provides for faster application development as host PC drives can be mounted from the LDK5910/5912. Another feature of the LEM is its support for connection of an HP logic analyzer or custom add-on boards. The system bus is exposed from the LEM to support analyzer and add-on board connectivity.

Interface Display Module

The IDM supports the LCD display and LDK5910/5912 interfaces. These interfaces include buttons, audio, touchscreen, serial, USB (host and client) and power indication and control.

The digital camera module is developed to use with LDK5912.
